how do I improve the look of the front my house?

I don’t like the kerb appeal of my home, especially the front door being on the side rather than the front. I wondered if anyone had any ideas to improve its look?

Would more substantial planters be something you would be interested in? I see one rather small, lack lustre little planter rather dwarfed by the wall it’s on. An investment in some coloured glazed planters in the same color on either side of the garage, with another under the window with a simple planting of petunias would bring some color.

Move the front door to the front? As in replace garage door for front door and window.

A floorplan could be helpful to see what you're dealing with internally.

work out the wall space you want to cover, measure this on the floor. then start laying out our design within the space on the floor to create your design. There has to be lines running through the collage so there is a method to the madness- we don't want a messy looking arrangement, there must be a flow. You can line up the matts with outside edge of other frames etc. Layout all of your pics on the floor and mix up the frame styles and sizes amongst your layout. Take photos of your layout and then start hanging. My tip is don't start hanging until you have your plan 100% !!! lots of neck stretches too! i recently put together this collage and need a neck massage afterwards ;-)

Hi. It's looking really good and you've done well with the bookshelves! ! I love the new sofa! I would say just a tad more yellow if your husband can bear it, doesn't have to be solid yellow. I'd add something else on the left shelves (I'd move one shelf of photos to the right hand shelving and swap for some books), maybe a ginger jar if you can get an old one. Maybe a patterned throw or cushion for your wooden chair and a small yellow throw for the bench just draped over the corner. Table idea sounds great. Are you happy with it? I think it's made such a big difference

I have a cupboard where I store all of my shoes, but the ones I wear most often are just out by the front door. Depending on how many people live in your house, maybe a shoe cupboard with enough shelves for everyone would work out best.

Hi Rachel, This is quite easy to fix. Firstly I would brighten the space up with a white paint such as Nippon Violet Whispers (warm white), this will give you a good base to work from. Then I would replace your table with one that is larger. This table is too small to be useful and is making your entrance feel small. I recommend using teak and keeping this console table simple in design. On the wall I would place artwork - the bigger the better as this will make a dramatic statement. Then add some lighting (table lamp on console table) and decorative items and voila your entrance will be instantly chic! I have mocked up two options for you - one is based on blues, the other pinks, so depending on your preference you can go either way. Planting - multistem tree or shrub such as an Acer palmatum, Prunus serrula or Amelanchier underplanted with ferns and bulbs would be lovely and less watering than a planter.

from the architectural point, I would add similar elements that are already present on the house freth work and mimic that on the porch.

also a nice exterior light and then there is landscaping that is currently bare.
