When shutters are slid open, do they completely clear the doors?

I like the look and would like to be able to slide the shutters completely off the doors when privacy and light control are not necessary. Is this possible?

    If there is wall space to the side of the patio doors, the shutter sliders may be slid off to the wall to clear the window completely. Below is a picture of the same patio doors with the shutters completely open.
