Shiny Island

We just had our kitchen island repainted but the finish is a little too shiny for my taste. Other than applying another coat of paint (it took us three coats to get it to this finish), is there something we can do to just knock a little of the shine off?

Try washing with TSP. Or use a white or Blue scotch brite pad. Try a spot first.

Tri sodium phosphate a very nasty substance, I would just leave it as the finish will lose some of the shine just with use, you spent all this time on this don't wreck it now.

I think it looks good the way is is, just leave it and it will develop a natural patina and the high gloss with wear away.
