Grange Residences
The clients wanted an understand lux feel, one where they could showcase their art collection, and yet with a design that did not clutter the walls and feel too maximalist. It had to be practical, yet impress upon arrival and utilize the floor plan. It needed to serve as a family space most of the time but still provide that ‘wow’ effect when entertaining. As it was the penthouse apartment, it was important for the design to take advantage of the incredible views and still cast your eyes to the scenery beyond. They also wanted to incorporate both Chinese/Peranakan motifs, bringing them in to the scheme in a subtle manner yet still maintain a contemporary scheme. It was import for us to create a design which complimented the existing clean lined architecture of the building, which acted as a foil for our design. The warm tones of the existing wooden floors provided a perfect base for our scheme and allowed us to carefully introduce in pops of colours, along with the Chinese motifs through our soft furnishings.
Bespoke soft furnishings and window treatments were added throughout. These were all carefully selected, and each design was bespoke and furnishings made in house, resulting in a curated design by Design Intervention.
