gave us an idea for having the same concept, but the ability to drop a counter piece down into the hole when not using it for entertaining and it would then be flush to the rest of the island. When removed you could have similar metal bins that you could fill with ice for chilled wine, sodas, beers, or even put sternos down in there to keep hot food warm (??).
