Walker Reserve
can we learn from this photo? super efficient loft/kitchen. high finish stairs and railing, skylight..... don't love the cabinetry but this seems high finish and small square feet. i think this would be more like a guest cottage
restful elevation, maybe too modern - I like modern look
hate the choices of colors but like the idea of using the tile as the key design component. also like running it up the wall, maybe stop at wainscoating height, or maybe not. depends on cost of tile - i think all this is very afordable. Cheap ceramic tile
there are things about this that I don't like but generally like: cheap stained siding, upgraded roof with wrapped standing seam. cool overhang, bright accent colors and interesting architectural twists and turns. big accent wall jumps out. maybe a color other than red.
nice way to work a terraced patio into the picture. I like that the outside liveable area is so large - maximize the views
I wonder if there is such thing as high finish CMU that works as structural and aesthetic? Nice look
I like the whimsical use of colorful tile in a safe location. Really like the openness of this one
seems like an affordable approach. difficult to extend the patio too far on a split level design
Money shot!! can this be done cheaply? Really love this. It can be pulled off with the accordian doors like what the Moores have
love the use of dark paint to contrast the fireplace. also like the stair detail, could be done with wooden pickets. Agreed
great look and completely unaffordable. what about: dark stained floors, fixed window on the left corner with built in nook and sliders to the right? I think having the FP in the middle sort of breaks everything up. I like it on a back wall
clean modern look. most of the look comes from paint color, can lights and window - yes - we are getting into bigger house now
super cool corner windows and built in benches. I wonder what the net cost is for these sort of windows? cheap headers + expensive windows - framing, sheetrock and paint? these look like custom windows that could add up
excellent windows - love this - start to loose wall space for furniture though. Maybe it floats in the space anyway
affordable fireplace seating - very affordable
the small amount of stained siding surrounding the impact window works well. Might be a way to get away from custom sized windows
affordable string lighting could be a noticeable upgrade - yep
this is the sort of landscape uplighting that is cheap and effective
some of this looks adaptable to our price range: stained wooden accent wall, light colored base building, the dark framed sliders and windows seem very distracting, small overhang - i like the contemporary look
I like the contrast between the stained wood deck and the glass/stone exterior. also like the planting gap separating the two areas - yes i like this look
I love this but probably too edgy. maybe some takeaway, like: one big dramatic window, CMU wall as an accent,..... I like this look - do you like the copper metal look?
expensive hammock stand but might be a good way to accessorize the deck/patio. Eno also has colorful hammocks and stands for about $250 - these can be affordable. We did a few at Summerchsae
all of these expensive windows and they trap your vision inside the room. do not do this! - Nope - no window panes in general
none of this is affordable, but I like the way the wood floor dead-ends into the tile. also the stained wood column wrap. we may not have columns, but also works with cased openings - reminds me a lot of current Ellijay house
oh, I know, super wild. the one point is the use of a window in a wall as a room barrier without actually closing of the room: not that window and not that wall finish, just the concept - yikes - looks like a garage sale :)
these oversized shaded lights make a big statement and should not be too expensive - light fixtures are the best way to accent a space for less money
stained sliders tend to stop the view in the room - true - i don't like the look
how much more is shiplap instead of sheetrock in limited locations. really define a room - doesn't the shiplap go ontop of sheetrock?
oversized sliders, but still sliders - interested to see how this pricing compares to acordian doors
sliders look fine as long as the view is strong enough. if not, plantings outside the doors draw attention outside
depending on the location of the kitchen, windows look great and are cheaper than cabinets - lots of panes break up the view though
may not be brave enough to try, but cool ass floor - cool but a huge commitment
like this as a firepit
another cheap option for fire pit, also pulls in the rust
excellent low budget fire pit solution - yep
like the stone choice, but need much less. high end kitchen but with no upper cabinets. cost effective idea and looks great - like the white stone vs. dark stone
fixed lower windows with operable upper - this is sort of funky, I would not be able to reach the upper windows to open
nice use of stone sparingly, decent carpet choice if not hard wood (hardwood look probably important), like shelving - like shelving - i would stick to hardwoods
how about CMU base, stained wood seating and slate gravel base for firepit. - cool use of materials
inexpensive way to do built in shelving - i think it might date out though
clever use of down spots and indirect lighting for drama - yes - never seen this before
Interesting patio finish and transition into gravel area - might be a little too rustic
dramatic use of fixed windows. - like this
built in furniture - great way to maximize space
front glass and walkway
