I believe that interiors should always be an embodiment of the user's characteristics, personality, culture and habits but at the same time puts functionality as its main aspect. As the 21sy century progresses, modernity has taken a huge influence towards design and people are now favouring a clean, sleek to-th-point design intent. i like to call my design style as "Refined Modern" which i personally translate the idea of having a modern touch, but crafted to meet the needs of the user as well as translating them. when starting to design, the first question i like to ask myself is "What is the one word that describes the user?" Therefore the design focuses on the user first rather than only what meets the eye. then this word becomes the cornerstone for the whole project, developing the modd, materials and so on. I was inspired to become a desginer since i was a little girl, I loved imagining spaces and what they're meant to be. This imagination slowly grew into an obsession and I started spending my time getting to understand it more. The more i dig, the more i realised that one touch could evoke a whole lot of meaning and story into a space, which i aspire to do. Having excelled in other subjects too, I was given the freedom to choose my major. But one thing i ask myself was "What is the one thing you love to do, and won't mind doing for the rest of your life?" and it was designing spaces. I knew that designers has the power to change one's way of life through both planning and easthetic aspects. My favourite interior designer would be mimdesign studio, an australian based designer. I love how they curate their interior to be as clean, modern yet also tells a story of the user living in it. Their use of material are also in wide ranges, giving different moods through contrast, hierarchy, colours, texture and much more.
