Interior windows to screened in porch. Also, like colors, cottage-feel.

Q

Photo

Cozy seating around hearth, though I think we'd want a couch in the mix. Thinking about similar arrangement to this or possibly a sectional sofa.

Q

Photo

Shingles, stone, slate, hydrangeas. Like these columns Interesting roof lines at entry. Welcoming. High on our list of appealing exteriors.

Q

Photo

Larger front porch, welcoming entry, 1st floor anchored. (At least one too many triangle roofs). Pavers around gravel driveway. Like some of the design work by this NH firm -Haynes & Garthwaite. This home shows much better @ their website https://hgarchitects.com/portfolio/the-bomb-shelter/

Deck railing with built in bench

Q

Integrated, progressive outdoor living spaces. Deck to patio.

Q

patio & fire pit off the porch - could be redundant if we have fireplace in screened porch.

Stone steps and walls

Clean and balanced, stone, wood

color scheme, vanity combines shelves and doors and drawers.

Space saver. Something like this for Faith's work space or storage? Don't see myself working in a closet, but will need a place to put work files/materials. Tim would probably use the more formal office, which would likely double for extra sleeping space.

Island top. More natural v. pre-fab. Too rustic? Looking for cottage/house, not cabin.

Q

Can't put specifics to this, but something appealing about it. Maybe just open and light and the centrality of fireplace. Like the flooring (color, width) and combination of wood and Persian rug/s. Timber seems a little too casual. TJR: long view that is balanced, adds connectivity. Glass cabinets contribute to openness & light. Interest in the light over dining table.

Q

Photo

Built in seating for dining table - room for table add-on/expanded seating. Might like it better if part of a punch-out.

steps and landing

Q

Waterfront home on sloped land with walkout basement. Don't like the round porch.

Q

Photo

Stonework for hillside solution....

Q

Photo

Screened in porch, back patio - outdoor living spaces in relation to house. Attractive "back side."

Q

Photo

Front porch. 3 Panel door. The slate/stone as an alternative to mulch in front beds. Do not like the windows, or the scalloped shingles at top.

Q

Photo

Shingle style, porch roof and pillars. Nice stone in the archway. Not a feature we'd want, but chimney, foundation?

Q

Photo

Punch out in front, and covered porch. Windows. Scale much bigger and more complex than what we have in mind, but overall attractive home from the outside.

Q

Photo

A little too much going on... but some elements appeal. Shingle style, ground floor-centric. Attractive garage, seems integrated and house-like.

Q

Photo

Possible color - different. cheery, fun. Stone work. Also has a cottage vibe.

Q

Photo

Lake house look. Inside is too casual

Q

Photo

cottage-y feel

Q

Nice cabinetry.

Q

Photo

potential for carriage house - creative space

Q

Photo

This house is a cape (not what we want), but it has a cottage feel to it throughout. Like the wall color and floor color, built ins, wide trim.

Q

Photo

Doors that can be left open to screened porch. French or sliders like these.

Q

Photo

small woodstove for screened porch

Q

Deck Railing

Q

Photo

Porch - wood on ceiling a nice feature. Ceiling here probably much more elaborate (expensive) and attention getting than what we need., but this is a nice light and airy space. Like the low wall. Heating element options? Nothing like a pandemic to raise that consideration.

Q

Photo

Appeals conceptually, not literally. Built in bookshelves and gas fire place in bedroom.

Q

Photo

Like this style of windows for other areas of the house - plenty of clear views, but not without some design element. For lake view in living area, would go with a taller window, maybe a single row of panes above.

Q

Photo

Built ins in stair well - interesting idea

Q

Photo

Windows, built ins, open, light - kitchen colors except maybe a warmer wall color. Like that you are looking through windows instead of at cabinets,

Q

Photo

We have woodstove now, but a fireplace may make sense in more efficient home. Aesthetically a wood fireplace would be optimal (would want to consider any downsides - mess, etc.) Maybe this style is too rustic or whimsical, but it has a nice organic quality to it.

Q

Photo

Like this hearth @ Starry Night Cafe. Would be wood-fired in living room.

Q

Photo

Windows for lake view / LR

Q

Photo

Welcoming covered entry. Or perhaps situated on another side of house for lake view if we go with a covered patio. Will need to consider budget for outdoor living spaces, including deck which we assume will be a large feature.
