Designer secret: “With all the natural light in the space, a dark wall color was used to provide contrast and complement the colors in the backsplash tile,” says designer Ann Linck. “Uh-oh” moment: “The room was originally designed with a side-by-side washer and dryer,” Linck says. “When it came time to lay out the cabinetry we realized that this did not allow enough usable storage for the homeowner.
