I agree that it isn’t White Diamonds which I have grown for a number of years. Without pruning it has not exceeded 4’ in height, and it is really white for a really long time; in mid-September it gets a hint of pinky-tan, but never develops much color before frost. I still think that it is either Quickfire or Little Quickfire or perhaps Dharuma, one of the older varieties of H. paniculata. In areas warmer than my zone 5 garden, color may not be a good indicator, since cool evening temperatures seem to be the key to developing good color, so often in spots that are warmer than here, folks complain about the poor development of color in types of paniculatas chosen for their fall color.

Chambray is a good color choice Funky! Good luck on your hunt. I love all white bedding but when my pups were alive that was a NO go. Neutrals but not pure white .

Did not realize Japanese maples extended into Zone 5b. It is the only Maple that surprived for me. When I moved into my current property, we had Sugar Maple and Red Maple, they both declined in health and then died. The Bloodgood, Japanese Maple has always been our favorite but it is a big Maple. Gorgeous tree, in leaf from late April through November, but in November tghe leaves turn scarlet red and still linger for about a month. Thiis is late November.

I like loose-fitting styles - just not exaggerated. I'm glad the look's back in favor. It's way more comfortable. What goes around, comes around it seems - it's a bit reminiscent of the 90s when oversized shirts and bottoms were the thing. Of course that doesn't mean every style is going to suit everyone. If the sweatshirt makes you feel uncomfortable or awkward, then it's probably not for you.

I like all of them and for me it would really depend on what colors you want to bring into the room. I'm a blue lover, so would choose blue accessories before I'd pick colors to go with the other, but I think the reddish one looks really nice with your vanity (which is beautiful)!

Omg…if you haven’t been to Sea Island…Go! The Cloister is amazing! An incredible spa, beach club, activities, and simply walking among the GORGEOUS homes with huge oak trees covered in moss. It is one my top 5 places to go running.

FOAS--some of that price pays for the name! Sleevendog, your recommended shears are very similar to mine, too. Truly excellent. I love the tabs to breaking the seals on jars! I learned the churchkey trick here in GF, but mine is an OXO rather than a proper stamped churchkey, and kind of too thick. I give this kind as token presents. I noticed what else I got from the sale when I was tidying the kitchen. I had been scouring the appropriate websites for a particular sized square tart pan with no luck. At the sale they had a rectangular one that was otherwise the right size and features, so I got that. Of course, I don't remember what I needed a specifically square tart for... It is tin, but the edges are polished enough that they don't cut fingers, which is a nice feature.

Well I must mention that I had a great walking pad for most of last year & gave it to my granddaughter recently. I replaced it with a barely used treadmill that I purchased 2nd hand the day before Christmas Eve. I just knew that I needed the safety of the hand rails. The walking pads can be great but I turned 70 last month & my children insisted that I should have hand rails & I have to admit that I feel more safe having them.

I wonder if I did something wrong as the skins most decidedly did not slip off. Did I roast too long or not long enough? Interesting that you don't peel them, dcarch. It didn't occur to me not to but heck, I eat the peel on most other veggies so why bother? If I hadn't had to peel them, the effort involved woulds down about 90%. Honestly, I didn't even compare the prices of fresh vs canned. (And by canned I mean the kind that come in a tin can not something I've actually created or processed my own self... I'm not that talented!) I will do so though and if the price warrants it, maybe I'll roast some again to see if they either peel more easily or are ok unpeeled. Didn't think about adding them to salads raw either. So I might try that. I did save the green tops for salads, they're good. Once I figured out what was causing the pink, I was ok. But it did mystify me a bit at first! So yeah, now that I expect it, I won't be astonished again.

I think your eyes are a pretty shade of green :) My eyes are hazel - amber/dark green/gold - and are getting lighter as I get older. If I'm teary-eyed they are mostly green. My husband's eyes change from light blue to light green, and our DD'S eyes were very blue until she was 2 and then changed to a dark, mossy green with no brown at all. She must have gotten a combination of both our eye colors! My older son has hazel eyes but they're two different colors. One is mostly green and the other is mostly brown.

Homeless are everywhere in the park we run. I've seen dogs that are treasured friends, the only reason they have to live....and I've seen a guy yelling at a little grey French Bulldog that he was underfoot. 50/50 About the same odds of having a good home with a monied person. She is soooooooooooo sweet

My sisters son became engaged to a wonderful young woman with a little girl same age as his. Beginning with that first Christmas when they were not yet married, I've bought equally for both girls for all occasions. Sitting to the side while presents were being opened and not being included equally wasn't acceptable to me then - and it isn't now. A little younger than the children you've described but I'm not sure that matters. You don't know yet what joy they may bring to your lives, but unless there are budget restrictions I'd certainly want to get started on the same foot - it won't hurt your relationship with the fiance either, a generous way to say accepted and welcome (fingers crossed that's the case). If your DD has moved in with him and his kids, hopefully this is something that will be lasting and they will become a family unit, part of yours.

@nicole___ he's a handsome boy. do you know what makes him "special needs"? too bad about the invisible fence stuff. at one time, i had 7 acres of it and trained 3 danes to it. it was awesome! when i had my water well bored, they cut through the wire and since, by then, i had dogs that hadn't been trained to it, i never got it fixed. i hear this a lot when it comes to rescues and their oftentimes stringent requirements. if these places would give a little, they'd have a whole lot more homes for their dogs.

Question about your use of a back brace: Was that recommended by a professional? he didn't recommend it or even mention it as a possibility. i did tell him i was wearing one when i do anything physical and he said it was fine if it helped, which it does. this is a back brace that i've had for many years, always wore it when i rode horses. it's a neoprene wrap that provides heat therapy as well as support. i am still doing the p/t exercises every day aimed at strengthening core muscles, mostly stretching exercises that i do before i get out of bed every morning. he also told me that the relief from the injection may take a couple of weeks to kick in so i'm expecting to be uncomfortable for a while after i have it.

I changed my mind on Retin A, thanks to what Tina said and the fact gardening starts soon and hot sun, I may start in the Fall. Bumble, what is the name on the tube of your retinol? It's not Retin A is it, because that stuff is $$$$. There are times I think nothing works so I'm wondering if it's the lighting? Even in a bright bathroom it's hard to tell so I think, if I remember, to take the mirror outside once a day to inspect my face. Those tiny blackheads are only noticeable with a magnified mirror and they're deep, but still bug me because I can see them and nobody else can., lol

2pups, better lock all your doors and windows tonight cause it's tempting to take that darling of a girl. How darn cute she is!! Morz, is fall and winter mating season? We have wheat and pasture surrounding us and a creek less than a quarter mile down the road where they hang out. There are large herds that come out once it gets cold, I think eating new winter wheat. DS lives on a hill behind us and said he sees them in the summer but I never do. Reminds me of something horrible I saw one day when I walked down the driveway to get the mail. Across the road was a dead deer with his head stuck between barbed wire. I bet a coyote spooked it. Pretty soon the coyotes will be forming their packs and all the howling starts at night. I love hearing them along with Owls who are starting to mate. Okay Cawaps, what's the story about the cats named after states? I love it! We had a Boston Terrier who lost an eye and it was so sad, but he did great. Pal, dogs can smell sickness, especially cancer. I read cats can tell if their owner is also sick but they don't get the strong scent like dogs. I already know what my dogs and cats are saying. I can feed them and come back five minutes later and they all show up saying feed me, feed me. lol This is embarrassing but I don't care. DH fixes himself bacon/sausage, eggs and toast every morning. The dogs get their own plate except for toast. Spoiled rotten. They're huge and burn off the fat.

When I sell my house, there will be a door that people wonder about. There is a small door next to the toilet, set into the tile that leads do a tunnel that goes behind the bathtub, comes out in a bedroom closet, and then there is a little door in the bedroom closet. It's for the cat. We had thought about running it under the floor but the joists run the wrong way. She Needed this tunnel, because she was used to being able to get down under the floor through a spot in the bathroom and when we started closing things up she was beside herself.

What a huge mess I had. The recipe said to take the bundt cake out of the pan and put on a serving plate. Then poke holes in the cake and pour the glaze over it. That glaze went everywhere. All over the place, the cake was not soaking it up at all. It was hard to poke holes in the top of the cake because of the pecans. What I wish I had done is remove the cake, pour some glaze in the bundt pan, put the cake BACK in the pan and then pour the glaze on it and let it sit there to soak up the glaze. Now I'm not sure how this is going to taste, maybe too dry without all that glaze on it. And I can't sneak a piece to taste it before my company because then the cake will be cut. I'd like to present a whole cake, ya know? Sometimes I can really rock it in the kitchen. And sometimes.......... not so much.
