Note the use the corner with counter and shelves. Shelves not too deep, but counter functional (be careful with lining back of counter with storage containers.

Too big overall, but the counter space stores appliances and allows them to be used without moving. But we would want enough empty counter space to sort groceries or re-arrange things on shelves
