The separate "locker" approach is appealing so everyone has their own space. Also, the bench sticks out a little bit so that one can sit on it to put shoes on.

I like the space for shoes, hanging coats, and extra storage baskets on top with the wooden bench for sitting. The only thing it needs is closable doors.
