Background guest room The background in this photo is the wall paper on the farthest wall. The wall paper is a simple pattern that makes the whole color scheme come out in the room. The wall paper makes the room look bigger than it really is.

Background Bedroom This room has a huge background in it. The background is obviously the window because it is so big and bright. Your eyes are automatically drawn to it. The curtains above the window help make it not so overwhelming. The area that the windows are in make the room a fictional room.

Background home office This room has a couple of backgrounds in it like the flooring and the window. The window lets in just enough natural lighting that it makes the room feel more open and bright. The flooring is wood that is covered with a rug that can be rotated or moved to serve the needs of the room.

Background Informal This room has a very informal look to it because of the balancing with the different objects of different sizes. The flooring is the background because it could be actual wood flooring or it could be laminate that is designed to look like wood.

Background Formal This room is a example of a formal living area with a background. The long curtains in the background bring your eyes right to the window. The curtains also make the room more formal feeling.

Backgrounds Playroom The background in this room is the window because the window is the part of the room that your eyes are drawn to. The background serves as a focal point and a functional thing because the bench is the functional part.

Design element Emphasis The emphasis in this photo is the flowers in the vase. This is the emphasis in the photo because the it is in the center of the photo and it is the brightest color in the room everything else is a light color or a neutral color.

Design element harmony This room has many different shapes in it like rectangles, squares, and circles/ovals. This room shows harmony because the unity is in all of the colors in the room. The variety is in the different shapes and sizes.

Design element proportion This room is an example of a well proportioned room because everything is equal, not to big, not to small. The mirrors fit in with the rest of the room and the towels and towelettes all fit and are just the right size.

Design element Harmony The room has a very good harmony because the horizontal lines complement the circles of the tennis balls. The whole room is a very good room for complementary.

Design element Rhythm This area of this room shows gradation because the shelving in this space gets smaller and smaller. Most people think that gradation is in color but it can be in size also. The shelfs get really small by the time that they are down to the ground.

Design element Balance This room is asymmetrical because of the pictures in the background of the furniture. The right and left pictures aren't the exact size but they work together because the middle picture draws your eyes onto that wall.

Design element balance This room shows really good balance because the beds are identical on both sides of the room. The blankets are the same and so is the ladders on both of the beds. The door is like the line of symmetry for this room.

Design element form The designer made sure to have a table that could support all the furniture in the room. The table holds a heavier feeling than the couches and chairs in the room. The table isn't just darker but it is more dense than the couches and chairs.

Design element form This outdoor room shows a really good example of form because of the square/rectangle shapes that are in all of the furniture. The square furniture complements the other items in this picture like the trees and bushes. The shapes of the furniture are all geometric.

Design element Proportion This room has a huge window. The chairs in front of the window look way to small for the window same with the table that is in front of the window. The window needs to either be 2 smaller windows or have 1 smaller window that wont over power the chairs as much as it is.

Design element Scale This room shows scale because of all the different sized patterns. The chair to the left has circles with littler circles in it and the chair on the right has just bigger shapes. The rug has a bunch of different sizes and colors in it. The pillows on the couch have patterns on it to.

Design element color achromatic This multiple story house/room is full of the achromatic color scheme. Your eyes are diffracted right to the rug in the middle of the room where the stripes want you to come into the middle of the room. There is not that much other color in this room because I'm guessing that the designer wanted it to feel dark and happy at the same time. You can do that because the black gives off a mean/dark tone and the white gives off a bright/happy feeling.

Design element color monochromatic This room is also a monochromatic style in color because it goes from really dark brown to a really white white. There is only a couple of things in the room that are completely white, like the vase and other objects on the coffee table in the middle of the room. The really dark brown things in this room are the coffee table and the two outside chairs. The other parts of the room are all different shades of brown.

Design element color monochromatic This room starts with the color white and slowly gets darker until it gets to the color black. The vanity is the next closest this to black without being black. The mirror is the only thing that is black in this room. Whereas the towel that is hanging is the only thing that is white. Everything else in the rooms is all different shades of grey.

Design element color analogous The room has a bunch of greens and yellows in it that make it all nice and bright. The pillows against the green wall make the yellow furniture pop out even more. The room as a whole is a well put together room because the colors aren't blending together.

Design element color analogous This room is full of analogous colors because the red agrees with the red orange and the orange with the red orange also. The darker grey lines on the floor make the room all tie into each other. The neutral colors on the wall make the colors pop out more. The red on the wall makes the room feel more open and spread out.

Design element texture This room shows texture because all the pillows on the furniture make the room look comfortable and homey. The softness of the whole room makes it feel like you just want to curl up with a blanket and make yourself feel at home.

Design element color complementary The red brick helps the green cupboards not be so bright and strong. The red is a nice accent to the background of the room. The little pops of colors here and there help because it that way the whole room looks very bright.

Design element color complementary The purple and yellow in this room are very amusing. the colors have just the right amount of comfort in them because the purple is not to overwhelming and the yellow is not to bright that it would make the room look weird.

Design element Color complementary This room shows a complementary color scheme. The blue and orange colors go good together. The colors are making the room more lively and more enjoyable to be in.

Design element texture This room shows a good example of heavy and light furniture. The couch and the chairs are examples of heavy feeling furniture and the walls and the tables/shelf's are light feelings of furniture.

Design Element Texture This room has all this that are rectangular in it. The overall form I see in this room is the darkness of the shelving unit is much heavier than the actual shelf's.

Design element space This is a small room that has many different storage options under the staircase. The room may not have a lot of furniture in it but would've been empty looking where the stairs are if they didn't have the storage option there.

Design element space This shows a very full and clustered room. This maybe a large space but it looks smaller because it has a lot of things going on in it. It has multiple areas for different things.

Design element space This is a example of an open floor plan. Where the furniture is very spaced out and there isn't separate rooms it is all a big room that has multiple functions. This makes the room feel comfy.

Design element line- Curved This is a example of the curved lines because it has curved furniture and it has a border around the ceiling that is curved.

Design element line- Diagonal This is example of a diagonal line because the grass in between the cement is making it look a little crazy.

Design element Line- Vertical This is an example of Vertical line because the tall windows are making the room feel like it is a big room instead of a small one.

Design element Line- Horizontal The sidewalk and the siding on the house with the garage door and window are all horizontal lines. It makes the area all calm and peaceful feeling.
