Ideas for the Study: Built in office nook in corner nearest the hall, with two window walls looking out onto front porch, bookshelves sharing wall with desk corner and pocket doors on the last wall. Bookshelves under the windows might make the room smaller. I would rather have smaller leather chairs in here for reading than a large desk. I anticipate that I will be bringing work home but I should NOT be bringing home paper. Should be able to do everything by internet or portable drive or a laptop. This room could double as a music room in the future.
Reader's paradise here. Library ladder is a bucket list item but with ten foot ceilings maybe a necessity. Depending on final window choice, maybe have bookcases under windows only, creating pockets between windows for chairs with tops of bookcases even with the bottom of window creating flat space for plants or drinks.
I like the green wallpaper and bookcase pillars. 2/3 paneling is also attractive.
