These are the Winning Designs from IDCS Design Excellence Awards
Singapore interior designers are recognised for design excellence by their peers in this open-to-the-region contest
On March 25, the Interior Design Confederation Singapore (IDCS) recognised excellence in the industry with its 6th Annual Design Excellence Awards (DEA), giving out 69 awards across 35 categories to local and regional designers and their projects. A total of 128 completed built projects were submitted for recognition by the industry, while 78 entries were submitted for the student awards known as Spatial Design Awards (SPADE).

The Gold winner for Best Residential Design ≤ 1,000 square feet, Khu Residence by Joey Khu Interior Design Pte Ltd, also won the IDEA Colour Award for its use of dark materials and finishes supplemented by pops of colour.
The silver winner of the Best Kitchen Design category was won by Lorenzo Tondelli for their project Umami the Kitchen. The Italian design firm also manufactured this kitchen.
Joey Khu also won silver for the Best Bathroom Design Award for his ‘Neutral Palette’ project.
Mike Lim (left), director at DP Design Pte Ltd, the interior design and spatial planning arm of DP Architects, was honoured as the Designer of the Year for DEA 2018/2019. His design for Our Tampines Hub (OTH), pictured below, pioneers Singapore’s first integrated people-centric and inclusive community and lifestyle hub.
Lim was also the interior designer of The Dubai Mall, the largest mall in the world, Resorts World Sentosa, Changi Airport Terminal 1 and 2, and Paragon Shopping Centre.

Finally, Geila Daughtrey’s Rockett Studio Pte Ltd was recognised as the Emerging ID Firm of the Year. Rockett Sudio specialises in F&B, Hospitality and Retail Design.
