A bi-parting skylight is one that splits in two. Bi-parting costs more than single slide, since it's really two operable skylights, electronically linked. Bi-parting has two things going for it: A) it looks very cool opening and closing, and B) it allows half of the skylight to be stored on each side of the opening.
