Back Hall Conversion to Laundry Room - Beverly,MA

The house was originally built in early 1900's with this space being used as a back hall entrance. With minimal lighting, a carpeted floor and with nothing but a shelf and coat hooks, this was a catch-all for what-not’s and a lack luster use of space. The goal was to take this space and turn into usable space that added functionality and value to the property. The solution, turn it into a laundry room. This was done by first adding the necessary plumbing and electrical to accommodate a new washer drier combo unit. Next by taking out the dark carpet and installing a low maintenance floating floor as well as adding recessed lighting to brighten the area, gives the space a clean look. Next came the painted base cabinets and wall cabinets with wood counter top and beaded panel back splash that gives it the look and feel of a built in country hutch. Adding an open shelve above and a custom pullout hamper in cabinet next to the washer increase the functionality of the space. Also added was a new exterior door with twelve lights of glass for added light. A recessed Ironing board cabinet with built in light and electrical outlet, and additional electrical outlets all around for convenience.
