Copes Lane Dining Room

This detail shot of a wall and little antique Chinese server in the dining room was a play on contrasts of texture. The rough, primitive texture of the Chinese piece and the worn canvas covered storage boxes, against the smooth marble of the young child's head , and gold brocade wallpaper, and the Old Master frame and painting. contesting Europe to Asia, Gold to worn canvas. What ties everything together here is color. Greys, golds, creams, brown of woods, black and white. Contrast is important so that individual items, histories, textures stand out. the frames on the antique engravings were painted a grey tone to mute and soften the black and white.
