We broke up a large room into its various functions with furniture, flooring and lighting locations. The living room is open to, but distinguished from, the dining room by the armless chairs and leggy stacking table that shows off some of the art glass. This newly retired couple desired a restrained sense of drama and wished to show their growing art glass collection and artwork. We agreed to mix new furnishings and art with existing pieces. All the living room and dining room furniture were ordered new for this new home. Furniture wood finishes include espresso stained mahogany and a fruitwood colored cherry. The open area floors are stone-look large format porcelain square tile installed on an angle.
