These clients wanted to create a feeling of quiet seclusion, tricky in this narrow plot, overlooked on all sides by neighbours. There could be no lawn as the ground was very boggy; Instead the garden is arranged as a series of paved spaces which catch the sun at different times of day. The owners were keen gardeners, happy with the use of large planting areas to provide the sense of privacy which they desired.
