Galveston Bay Residence
A 2,800 sf weekend home for a family with four active teenage boys. The main living level was required to be raised on piers and faces east over Galveston Bay. A split level scheme was developed with the pool deck halfway between natural grade and the main living level. In this manner the exterior pool courtyard was only a half level below the main living level. Half a level up is a wing containing the master suite and a tv/audio room. This wing provides a shaded area adjacent to the pool deck and privacy from a neighboring house on the north. Half a level up from the master suite, and over the main living level, are the boys bedroom and play areas, connected to an exterior porch tower with expansive views over the bay.
