Nikki's desire to create a space for entertaining was helped along by the introduction of the central island unit. Nikki chose a large island finished in autumn brown granite with a solid walnut grain chopping block to also make the space a practical cooking area. The island also housed a microwave and steam oven adding to its usefulness in the kitchen.
There was also the introduction of a large American style fridge-freezer surrounded by elegant larder cupboards in dark walnut.
