Highfield Farm and Woodland, Mt Adrah
This smart house is located on Scholz Road at Mt Adrah, between Wagga Wagga and Tumut. The project involved alterations and additions to an existing cottage to improve its efficiency and liveability. As the owners are environmentally conscious, the aim was to improve the energy efficiency of the cottage to make it a smart home. It was designed to increase northern exposure, manage seasonal sun and shade, maximise water storage and efficiency, and improve cross ventilation. The design also incorporated double glazed windows, new cladding and insulation, a solar hot water system, photo voltaic roof panels, hydronic style heating and ceiling fans.
