For this large historic farmhouse renovation, Gardner/Fox removed a false mansard roof & replaced it with a gabled structure to tie it in with the original home. The master bedroom ceiling was removed and vaulted and new windows installed. As part of the larger renovation the existing kitchen was gutted and replaced by period appropriate cabinets and hardware. Decorative wood beams that lowered the height of the ceiling were removed and replaced by painted white ship lap. The new white ceiling effectively brightens the entire kitchen while contributing to the overall style and architecture of the home. Wide plank hardwood flooring provides warmth and authenticity.
