This characterful home for a fabulous and stylish couple with a young child, was full of great furniture, much of it vintage, retro and antique, as well as a good collection of real art. The walls however, were still all magnolia, as they were when they bought the house. I worked as a consultant to bring some colour, vibrancy and cohesion to the many elements. I chose paint and wallpaper and made various suggestions and did some sourcing of lighting, furniture and accessories. The clients wanted to blend the traditional with some Art Deco and MCM pieces. To create a forever home that looked layered and was comfortable as well as timelessly stylish. They were very brave and went with all of my major ideas.
Later, they had a wonderful contemporary kitchen extension done, designed by Jonny Marrion, architect. I fully designed the bespoke kitchen and finishes within it and had that made by Juniper Kitchens. It needed to be contemporary and classic, whilst having an Art Deco flavour. Not and easy blend to achieve!
This project is the closest to my own sense of taste that I have ever had the opportunity to work on. and I love it!
