Houghton-Smith Farmstead

A room added in the 1840s was interpreted in appropriate period style, although a new multi-piece cornice (crown) based on historical precedents was added to accent the relatively tall ceiling. Formerly a doctor's office (19th century) the space now serves as a living room/sitting room. A soft yellow paint color was used to contrast with white original millwork. Photo by T. Jeffery Clarke
