East meets West in this contemporary kitchen, taking artistic inspiration from Asian principles of design in reenvisioned Chinese Chippendale detailing. A contemporary kitchen that expresses the concept of the yin and the yang through its color palette – pale whites and stark, rich blacks pair together in a design that finds unity through their opposites. The custom contemporary cabinetry features the Austere door style (shown here with beaded inset) constructed from maple in an ivory finish. Pale blue accent panels in the cabinetry provide a splash of color to heighten the look and provide visual interest as well. The impressive and classically styled island showcases a highly figured butcher-block countertop above and a low-sheen Carbon finish below.
