Ojai "Green" House
Another time of day that shows off more of the house while still bringing out its prime architectural features is just as the sun rises over the eastern hills of the valley. It is only then, and for just a few minutes, that the sun shines along the under side of the ribbed roof and shows the texture. But it also illuminates the red steel beams and posts as well as the eastern facing walls. Since the house is actually rotated south from the sun, the sun hits both the up hill side facing us as well as the end walls facing south east. But this light lasts about 5 minutes and it is then gone. Speed is the essence of this type of photography. Being prepared and ready in advance is essential. Peter D'Aprix Photographer
