Rustic Family Room

This family/TV room had gone through a number of evolutions. Since it was open to the kitchen, although separated by a large ceiling beam and a bar, it was decided to treat the kitchen & family room as one. The walls have a rustic plaster that has a very organic feel. The plaster was glazed to give a subtle patina of age without that "amusement park look" that is often replicated. The bow front chests were also given a different look by painting a Moroccan inspired design on the drawer fronts. The original colonial style pulls were removed and rustic iron finishes were painted and installed. With the rich colorful Persian rug, the room feels warm and comfortable.
