Sydney Regional Design Awards 2020 - Heritage buildings / adaptive reuse
Christopher Stewart’s Bowral Heritage Conservation Rebuild design won the Heritage Buildings/Adaptive Reuse category of the BDAA Sydney Regional Chapter Design Awards 2020.
Judges praised the design’s fresh, bright colour scheme with a heritage twist; seeing the project as a good response to Heritage planning restrictions to achieve maximum floor area in roof. They noted the rebuild’s challenging site in regards to orientation - north to the street. They also said that the garage was well sited to free space to suit the northern aspect.
