The Dining Room, featuring 'The Symphony Sideboard' and Wall in Mother of Pearl
This Dining Room opens onto the rear Courtyard with a modern vertical garden. The 'Symphony Sideboard' is of a contemporary classic style. It has a white onyx top and its cabinet has 24 carat gold-foiling, and it sits on a solid steel base. Kohelika uses traditional skills of foiling, where it is hand-pressed and rubbed onto the wooden surface with agate stones.
The dining table and chairs are Art Deco. One wall is clad with mother-of-pearl pietra dura, done by skilled craftsmen from Agra, in a re-interpreted modern idiom by Kohelika. The balance walls and ceilings are again hand-painted in a mother-of -pearl colour and finished by a skilled painter of specialized effects. The chandelier is the iconic 'Flying Carpet' by Venini.
