Although it is not visible from the photo, this property is situated on the side of a hill.
The owners have large amounts of surface water running through their backyard in heavy rain and in order to have a functional backyard that would not be effected by this water, the idea of a dry riverbed came about.
Acting as a functional spoon drain, the soon to be pebbled area will work effectively in directing the water away from the house.
