This is an excellent location for a wood cook stove: close enough to the kitchen to serve as a secondary cooking area and on the other hand right in the middle of a large air space between the kitchen and other rooms. Wood stoves are primarily space heaters and the larger the airspace around the stove the more effective it will be.
