Castle Keep Building & Restoration

Joe and Tony, the owners of Castle Keep, did an extensive six month renovation that required us to move out of our home. We felt very comfortable handing over the keys to them. Castle Keep were professional, honest and completed all the work within the anticipated time frame. They listened to our concerns and offered options and solutions. When getting bids from competing competent contractors, Castle Keep were always the lowest. What's even more remarkable was that nearly all the work was performed by Joe and Tony themselves. They were able to give us a clear picture of what the renovations would look like, which renovations would be the most practicable and they did so with experience, creativity and a bit of humor. Joe and Tony deserve their own HGTV show! In conclusion, we wholly recommend Castle Keep for any project you might be contemplating.

i really don’t bother to write reviews but on this occasion i felt compelled to because of the wonderful experience i had with this company i remodeled my bathroom had to be totally gutted and rebuilt i come from a italian family of carpenters and masons and i know when a quality job is being performed and joe and tony don’t cut any corners very professional explained everything in detail and most importantly know what they are doing couldn’t be more happy with the finished product it’s now been over 5 months since my bathroom has been completed and it still brings a smile to my face every time i go in there so do your self a favor give these guys a call just in their initial presentation you will c a difference between the other guys

Castle Keep did a large renovation for our beach house which included adding a whole new floor for a master bedroom, a large master bathroom, and closets; and completely opening up our first floor for an open kitchen, living room and dining room. Castle Keep came highly recommended but we did our homework and interviewed two other highly recommended builders. Joe and Tony stood out right from the beginning by offering us a fair price and being the most thorough in the review of the architect’s plans. The attention to detail they showed early continued throughout the project, as did the high quality of their work. When doing a renovation, you want builders who are flexible, experienced and smart enough to deal with the unforeseen. Joe and Tony excelled in these areas. When unexpected things popped up, they provided excellent recommendations (better than the architect) and identified several great improvements to our plans. We were delighted with their work and we recommend them wholeheartedly every chance we get.

I have used Castle Keep for three projects in my home. Our home is ion a hill and we had to replace our front entry stairs that were falling apart. Three other contractors walked away without even giving us a quote. Joe and Tony came out and looked at the project and came up with a fantastic design, that is both functional and makes the house look a 1000% better. They had to remove a 10' high brick staircase, the existing shrubs in front, and reroute low voltage wires that ran underground. They laid every course of block for the base by hand, taking care to compact the stone inside so that the staircase would last for ever. The end result was amazing. They even rebuilt the walkway to the backyard with new pavers so that it blended in with the look of the stair case and the original steps coming from the street. When you look from the street, the side view of the staircase matches the existing retaining wall down at the street level. They also replaced our old wooden back deck with a new Azeck deck. They relocated the steps of the deck to a safer location and had to move a hose bib, giving us better access and allowing us to use more space on the deck. The last project involved replacing an old linoleum kitchen floor. They had to remove two layers of linoleum and put down a new subfloor. Three years later the floor still looks great and there are no cracks in the grout. All three projects were done on time and on budget. If you are looking for a team that does thing properly, and treats every project as if it were their own home, these are the guys to call.

I have used Castle Keep for several projects in my home over the past 5 years. The latest was last September for the installation of a vent hood and relocation of my microwave. The first was replacing a deck on the back of my house 5 years ago. Joe & Tony are absolutely the best to work with. They are professional, detailed oriented, reliable, honest and very hard working. I would and have recommended them to many of my friends. Two of my friends used them and now they are recommending therm to their friends. You simply cannot go wrong hiring this company. In fact they will be renovating my Master Bath in the near future.

I found these guys just before hurricane Irene hit NJ. My finished basement flooded and caused north of $250k in damage. I called 3 different contractors but ultimately decided on Castle Keep to do the work. I couldn't have made a better decision. Joe and Tony gave me a competitive price, finished the job ahead of schedule, and left the place spotless. The fact that they didn't take on anything else until my job was finished astounded me. Since that incident I've hired them multiple times. They are as versatile a pair as I've ever met. There's nothing they can't fix or build and from what I've seen and once they fix it IT STAYS FIXED. The quality of workmanship is a throwback to a time when people took great pride in what they did. I cannot recommend these guys more highly.
