JQ Ong

The best kind of design is one where form meets functionality. That has been the philosophy at the heart of JQ Ong, one of the rising stars in the interior design arena today. JQ had his beginnings as a product designer at Converse Singapore before moving on to join the Dwell Interior Design team. His cutting-edge and innovative work was quickly recognized and featured in publications such as the Straits Time and Home & Décor. In April 2010, he left Dwell Interior Design to begin his self-titled company JQ Ong. He got off to a running start as projects were landed one after another. Among these was the collaboration with Ideas Empire for the interior design of Salon Royale at Resorts World Sentosa. In Jan 2011, JQ was invited back into Dwell Interior Design as a Creative Director to lead a team of designers. Now holding two portfolios, he is even more determined to influence the interior design arena with his passion and out of the box design. Homes are every individual’s private and personal space, and a reflection of their personality. JQ believes that his role is to translate that personality into aesthetics that anchor the interior design. His inspirations are Tadao Ando, Charles and Ray Eames, Jamie Hayon, Philppe Starck, Franz Kline, Barnett Newman, Paul Smith, Anne Leibovitz and Leonardo Da Vinci.
