MJL Design Group is led by Interior Designer Mimi Malamud-Levitan. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Interior Design, from The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, her career began in 1979 within the Corporate Interiors segment of the Interior Design Industry. Mimi has worked as a Senior Designer and Project Manager for several of the leading Interior Design firms in the country. Her successes led her to Los Angeles and South Florida, and a return to New York City. As her career flourished, Mimi elected to make the change from corporate to residential interiors. With a client list that spans many states, travel and technology continue to bring it all together. Mimi approaches each one of her projects with the same skills and guidelines that built her reputation. Her intuitiveness and precise understanding of what it takes to execute a project is balanced with experience, determination, and respect for the final product. Ms. Levitan's areas of expertise include architectural space planning, custom millwork detailing, as well as complete working knowledge of construction documentation and development. Her application of color and finish selections, in conjunction with her attention to style and detail of furniture selection, art and decorative accessories complete the project, and enhances not just the space but all of the senses as well. Mimi's detailed management skills include budgeting for all phases, project scheduling and thorough supervision of all of her projects. With a keen sense of color and eye for detail, Ms. Malamud-Levitan is committed to a high criterion of excellence.
