I have had the pleasure of working with the team at Urban edge on both the listing side and representing buyers of many of their amazing homes. Their dedication to design, energy efficiency, and innovation is unparalleled in the industry. No two of their homes are the same; each design is impeccably thought out down to the smallest of details with the home owners comfort top of mind. They are building homes for the future and inspiring others to do the same. My clients love living in their Urban edge homes and continue to sing their praises years after purchasing!

Urban Edge homes was amazing to work with. They built our dream house before we even knew it, and from the moment we found it (at drywall stage) they were wonderful to work with. They are creative, flexible, attentive, passionate about what they do and far ahead of other Edmonton builders in both design and customer service.
We were looking for something different and design-forward, which can be hard to find in Edmonton. We were thrilled to find a builder that takes design risks and thinks outside the box, and were willing to work with us on adding some of our own touches.
Since we've taken possession, Urban edge Homes has provided quick solutions for any issues we've had, and show genuine care for their product and customers.
We wouldn't hesitate to recommend Urban edge Homes to anyone looking for a new home in Edmonton . We've worked with two other new home builders in Edmonton, and Urbanedge is by far the best in design and innovation.

We don't normally take the time to write reviews. However after the amazing care and personal attention that the guys at Urban edge gave to us we thought it only right to let others know. Their team came to our rescue at our home and helped us realize the final product. Everyone from the team on site to the team in the office were nothing but exemplary. Products were top notch and the work ethic equal to how I would have done it if it were me.Thank you again to the Urban edge team. We wish you nothing but good wishes for 2020 and beyond.

My wife and I custom made a home in Ambleside, Windermere a couple of years back, the process was easy Vick gave us options that other builders didn't, they didn't go for the cheap cookie cutter approach, we have now built another home in Jagare Ridge from these gentlemen, and again the designs/options they gave us are amazing, what we thought would be a tough process, turned out to be easy. Vick is great with his design and trend outlook, options that we thought wouldnt look good turned out to be the master piece of our house. If your looking for your dream home with outstanding designs, Urban Edge is the way to go! This is our second home and we are truly happy! Thanks a bunch guys!!

I purchased my townhome from Urban Edge Homes in 2018 and it has been one of the most stressful situations of my life. I echo the previous reviews, Vick Mander, Managing Partner, is extremely difficult to deal with. Not only does he not return email / phone calls, on multiple occasions he has arranged in person meetings with me and has never shown up. There was no call, text, or apology.
There have been huge deficiencies with my unit. One of the biggest ones was the shower needing to be rebuilt. I ended up having to get home warranty involved because it was not being adequately addressed and, again, Vick was difficult to communicate with. In the end it took them over a year and a half to have a shower properly fixed.
Last winter my pipes froze in the kitchen. When I addressed this with Vick his response was, "this is what happens in Edmonton. You don't know what its like to live in a cold climate." The pipes where put on a exterior wall without any insulation.
I have been also having leaks in my place. Vicks response was this is what happens when the seasons change. Again, I had to get home warranty involved and it turns out my place was built with inadequate insulation. These are just a few examples of the issues I've had.
I provided one of their contractors with a key to my place. The contractor lost the key and lied about it. When he eventually admitted to losing the key Vick / Urban Edge agreed to change the locks for me. It took them over a year to re-key the locks and the process took 10 minutes.
In addition to the issues I've had with my unit I've also had issues with the developer in regards to the condo corporation. As the board had not been set up it was still under the responsibility of the developer. The developer failed to file our condo bi-laws as well as collect our condo fees. As a result he had let our insurance lapse. I had provided him post dates cheques that where never cashed or returned to me. When I addressed the multiple violations we where in with the Condo Act, I was told, "F the Condo Act."
With All these issues Vick had contacted awhile ago asking me to give him a 5 star review.

I was looking for a new home and was thoroughly impressed when I came across Urban Edge Homes' options. The process has been very smooth with only a couple of hiccups that were quickly remedied. Dealing with them has been very easy, and has allowed me to make some changes that other builders would not. I am ecstatic with my new home and would highly recommend!

In 2017, I purchased a townhouse from Urban Edge Homes. This is one of my biggest regrets and has been one of the most stressful and frustrating experiences of my adult life.
The home came with multiple deficiencies. Vick Mander, managing partner, has been extremely difficult to deal with and never before have I worked with an individual/company less professional or reliable, and with such gross disregard for others and their time. Not only did Vick not return many of my calls or emails, but on numerous occasions he made arrangements with me to have a meeting or drop things off and just did not show up, most of the time with no phone call or text message to cancel or apologize.
From the time I moved in, I made countless attempts to have the deficiencies fixed/repairs done. Urban Edge had sent multiple handymen to my place, but time and time again the bulk of the items on the list were not done and I had to try to get hold of Vick and initiate contact with a new handyman, resulting in me repeatedly having to go through the list in detail with either Vick or a new person each time. Because I believed Vick when informed that the deficiencies/repairs would be addressed, I didn’t get home warranty involved at the time.
With one of the handymen sent, I took it upon myself to hire him to get everything on the deficiency list completed, following the lack of response/repeated failure by Vick/Urban Edge Homes to fulfill promises made and as I had been waiting for over a year and a half at that stage. Once I received the bill, I sent it to Urban Edge Homes; in return they sent it to their lawyer. They agreed to reimburse me for only a quarter of the amount and only if I signed a release which would prohibit me from making any disparaging comments about them. I felt it important to let people know about my experience.
I have also been waiting since 2017 to get rail ends for the stair rail in my home. Vick on multiple occasions told me they where at the office and he kept promising to drop them off; I even offered multiple times to collect them from him. It wasn’t until later that Kevin Rogiani, another partner at Urban Edge, informed me that they did not even have them and would have to order them. To this date, I still have not received them.
In addition, as the development is a condominium corporation and the board had not yet been set up, it was still under the responsibility of the developer. On multiple occasions myself and the other neighbours had wanted to provide Vick with the condo fees, which he never accepted. We have not paid condominium fees in over a year and are in multiple violations of the Condominium Property Act. As a result, Vick had let our insurance lapse. It wasn’t until one of the neighbours sold their place that we learned of this.
I tried very hard to work cooperatively with this company, but dealing with them has been an incredibly frustrating experience and I’m aware that it has also caused enormous distress and frustration for my neighbours. Their behavior has been very much at odds with the values stated on their website.

We were drawn to our current home the moment we saw photos, it is truly stunning and everyone comments on the beautiful high end finishes and modern aesthetic. That being said, there have been a number of issues in regard to the quality of the work and a number of deficiencies were found. Some were addressed, though we’ve had to get tens of thousands of dollars worth of work redone using our new home buyers insurance. Now that it was discovered that the final grade wasn’t completed properly prior to them selling us our home and the front sidewalk and landscaping need to be redone, the company will not respond to us.

Comment from Urban Edge Homes:
Thanks Sherief! AH yes the basement and the delay in some suppliers but in the end your home came out amazing! Thanks for your support, sir!
We bought the show suite at what I think was one of their first developments. They were accommodating and accountable with getting us sorted with deficiencies and the eventualities often associated of buying a new home. We have now been living here for just over 3 years now and love our place.

We purchased a home from Urban Edge and it has been painful. There are a number of deficiencies & contractual obligations that they refuse to address, and they owe us >$4000 in unpaid taxes on the house. We would not recommend purchasing a house from them.
Update: Urban Edge has addressed a number of the deficiencies after posting this review. There are still a number of outstanding deficiencies & unpaid taxes.
Update: I'm not sure why Urban Edge is claiming in their response that they addressed all the issues outlined in our inspection before closing. That is absolutely not true, and is an example of the type of behavior we've encountered from Urban Edge. They only recently (almost one year after closing) fixed most of the issues identified before closing.

Comment from Urban Edge Homes:
Finbar and Candace have been awesome clients, they got a home inspection done prior to moving in where we had addressed all the items prior to closing the deal. Any issues that come after moving in Urban Edge is still responsible for and it is something that we have been addressing, a home is never going to be 100% but we do our best to be high up there, there were delays with landscaping due to the horrendous weaher we encountered this summer with high amounts of rain fall. We are still working with the lovely clients on a couple of new issues that have popped up as the house has settled after move in. The unpaid tax issue is a legal issue, when a property is sold both the buyers and sellers lawyers do a tax search and clear out any accrued and previous taxes, at the closing of the sale both lawyers did there due diligence, as this was a lot that was split into 2 skinny lots there was a new tax roll and number, so after the clients moved in there was a new assessment, we have dealt with this issue through our lawyers. Finbar and Candace have been patient with items and we will continue to keep our obligation of fixing any deficiencies. We always encourage customers to use home warranty as a tool, as it brings clarity to alot of issues, and meditates the process between a buyer and seller.
