“Douglas is a man of integrity. ALL of his subcontractors would be someone I would invite to dinner! When ever there was a problem, Douglas made sure it was attended to immediately. After the construction we discovered a broken pipe...not one his team had installed, but he paid through his insurance for the entire redo of the area where the pipe broke. The insurance company said they could not believe that Douglas did not want to contest any part of the claim. They said he must be a terrific person. Regarding the construction.: Douglas designed a .5 bath and a .75 bath from a former ugly, useless single bath. The design was perfect. Both bathrooms are roomy and contain ore than adequate storage for everything and more. Everyone who has seen it has been very impressed.”

“Bill Roth and his affiliates built a fabulous sunroom addition to our home, and we couldn't be happier. He really worked with us to maximize our goals, helped with design and finishes, and then created our dream room. They had to work through the winter, but they were very respectful to our property and kept the place tidy. His crews were perfect gentlemen and showed a caring attitude (as well as excellent skills) that my wife found really comforting. Bill is an honest and forthright contractor that we recommend highly. “We have provided cabinetry design, fabrication and installation to a number of Cody's projects. The execution and quality of both remodels and new construction from True North is the reason we are proud to be associated. Top notch!”

“We hired Don Russell (dba Old Town Builders) to replace two decks at our Santa Fe home. It was a project with some challenges: (1) both are on the second floor, built on flat roofs so that water leaks were a concern; and (2) the material we selected was Ipe, a tough Brazilian treated wood that some contractors do not care to work with. Don used a remarkable Bison installation method to suspend the decking over the roof (avoiding leak issues), and did a lovely job. We were especially pleased with the way he handled our stairways. They were not attached to our home properly. Don identified and fixed that problem - even repairing the stucco. We couldn't be more pleased. Don is also a gentleman. He was always neat and courteous. Highest marks!!”

“I was very pleased with Boss Builders, especially the open and inviting degree of collaboration and respect that Martin offered. He also took independent initiative on a few aspects (extending the portal, installing hallway light fixtures), that integrated beautifully with the original design, after learning what my vision was.”

“David Shields did an excellent job remodeling my 1985 kitchen. He made it "new", but kept the Santa Fe look and feel, which is why we bought the house. He replaced the counter tops without destroying the backsplash (something two other contractors said could not be done). He added cabinets in the same style and finish of the old ones and you cannot tell the difference. He replaced all of the appliances, moving some for a better work triangle. He added a custom made island and a large kitchen desk. Now I love working in my kitchen!”

“I have known Doug McDowell for more than 5 years, during which he’s built a new home for me, extensively remodeled and expanded an architecturally significant historic home for me, and assisted me in several property purchases and sales. If there is one word that captures all my experiences in these different environments with Doug, the word would be,“devoted.” With a deep respect for Santa Fe and for his clients, Doug is devoted to the client’s vision, he is devoted to architectural integrity, he is devoted to high standards for himself and his people, he is devoted to schedules and budgets and promises, and he lives up to his errors (which are pretty darn rare). He’s an expert, a craftsman, a great listener, and a mensch. Thank you for being my trusted resource and guide, Doug.”

“Alan is a fabulous custom builder that is wonderful to work with. He is commited to his customers. He treats the trades with respect and pays his sub contractor's very fast. He calls, and they jump! He is extremely picky and demands perfection. You will love his attention to detail, ideas and great communication.”
