“Dustin did a wonderful job for us. Cleanest tradesman BY FAR, and we've hired quite a few over the last decades. The venetian plaster is fairly mesmerizing to look at -- so much depth. The thing we learned about plaster is the colors are tricky to match to a paint chip--and Dustin was very patient with me as I toned down the severity of my original choice. Great job! Thank you Dustin!”

“Schilling provided contracting services for our bathroom and guestroom remodels, as well as extensive repair of wood rot, window, door, and siding replacement on our exterior, and has begun consulting with us on our kitchen remodel. Schilling has also providing contracting services for repair of wood rot, window replacement and painting of exterior of building for our office condominium building, as well as the complete remodel of our office unit in that building. Doug Schilling is extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy, fair, delivers excellent results on time and in budget. Some of these projects were completed in 2009. The condo building is currect for 2014.”

“Beautiful Work !!!! I was a contractor in Michigan and North Carolina. I did custom woodworking on my projects. Came into it from antique furniture and love seeing homes being built. I hopefully will be moving to Costa Rica sometime in 2015 to manage development projects for someone I know. I physically can't do it anymore. Love your Kanae lot 1 project. I'd love to have that built for me in a couple of years in Costa Rica, sitting and watching sunsets over the Pacific !!! Robert Kahler”

“Having just completed our new Kona home, we are just beginning to enjoy the fruits of our labor after nearly 11 months of construction. Fritz Harris-Glade was our architect who is among only a handful of professionals, subcontractors, and vendors who I would recommend. Naively, I thought that once he finished our design and drawings we would then just let the contractor/builder take it from there. We quickly learned that having our architect oversee the project, conduct periodic inspections, and make suggestions for improving upon the design was essential. Fritz was always just a phone call away if not onsite. He walked us through all sorts of minor (and one major) issues with the building department. He is extremely knowledgeable of Hawaii's rather complex and odd building codes. Further, Fritz understands the complexities and tradeoffs sometimes necessary to achieving his client's goals. Sometimes it was just keeping our general contractor on pace. I didn't realize that an architect can also be a good psychologist and counselor. There were many times that I called Mr Harris-Glade just because I had a concern or was overly anxious about one thing or another. In each instance, Fritz was thoughtful, knowledgeable, and able to exert just the right amount of reassurance to keep me level headed and positive. In the end, we have a wonderful new house that we think is the best on our street with custom features and a fantastic open-air feeling.”

“I hired Dickinson General Contracting 2 months into working with another contractor on my home renovation. The project had gone downhill quickly and it was becoming apparent that this contractor could not follow through on his promises. Upon the initial consultation with the owner, Tyler Dickinson, I felt very comfortable with bringing him in to help save our renovation. The entire Dickinson General Contracting team was extremely knowledgeable, hard working, and honest. Not only did they follow through on every thing promised, they went above and beyond to make this process as easy as possible for us. They performed a wide range of jobs for us, from painting, tiling, and finish work to electrical and plumbing. I was extremely impressed with the quality of work performed every step of the way and I will never hire another contractor on the Big Island again!!”

“I have a contemporary loft and wanted a project done meticulously, on time, and with creative ideas. North Star met those requirements. They came up with ideas I would not have come to on my own and the plans were put into place exactly as I had hoped. Additionally, they kept my place neat and clean during the project, important since I had to live there during the construction time. Their work on my place was featured in the Home Section of our leading metropolitan newspaper - the article was syndicated nationwide. High marks!”

“Our house sold quickly and we needed to buy another. None really matched the quality that we had built. Found one with possibilities. We need someone with experience. Greg and his crew went to work the moment we had keys! Kitchen and bath counters were replaced with granite,sinks and toilets changed, carpeting ripped up and wood flooring put down after leveling the concrete, baseboards installed, cupboards relocated, ice maker and bar refrigerator installed. All this was completed in 10 days!! After moving in, plans for more cupboards and a large lanai were made. One of the qualities we admire in Greg is his thought processes. He thinks projects through, suggests changes and/or improvements to our ideas. Building problems are usually avoided by his thought process. Greg is a very respected person in the building industry, as well as, the County Planning Dept. His attention to details, budgets and quality has given him this reputation. He is surrounded by subcontractors who understand the quality that Greg demands. We are constantly recommending Greg Putman Construction to anyone who wants their project done correctly, cost efficiently and in a timely manner. Greg and his crew are the very best in the business.
