“Glen and Matt are the contractor/Builders you would wait in line for. Never have I had a better experience estimates are right on the money and Glen's honesty is never in question. Several times he was able to pass on materials savings to us, and the quality of workmanship--perfection! Matt and Glen maintain the highest level of professionalism in their personal conduct. I would trust them with my house and all of my belonging without a care--they are as trustworthy as it gets. When we need builders for any more remodeling or building, we will only use Halldale Builders. I stand four-square behind this review even several years later.”

“Steve was a great partner to work with on our recent net zero Design/Build collaboration! Steve was able to take our detailed list of design requirements and create an incredibly functional home plan that ultimately satisfied all of our needs and desires. Highlights of our project included: - The final home plan was the product of a highly collaborative and iterative design process that relied upon 3D renderings and walkthroughs to test and review the plan at each stage of design. This allowed us to validate the plan and, where necessary, make adjustments before construction actually started. We can honestly say that there is nothing material we would change about the design. - Steve’s extensive background in modular and net zero construction ensured an extremely energy-efficient home (HERS score of 11) - Our building envelope presented some interesting positional challenges that Steve was able to solve elegantly and efficiently. - Steve not only accommodated our desire to do the interior finishing work (i.e., cabinetry, tiling, flooring, painting, etc.) ourselves, but in fact actively facilitated our ability to do so by adjusting his build plan to complete our workshop well before the rest of the house was completed. “Our experience with Ray was outstanding. His estimates for both cost and time were extremely accurate and fair. In some cases, he needed to fix someone else's work at our property. In those instances, he thoughtfully explained what needed to happen and why. We have had Ray return for a number of significant projects to include: new roof and roofline, new porch rebuild from top to bottom, and design and build of an overhead for our front door. We have been happy with all of his projects and results. I would certainly request his expertise again and recommend others to as well.”

“Consider using Josh Howell. We had him help with extensive renovations of our 1880s house in Friendship. You can see a portfolio of pictures of our place in his "projects." What you cannot see is the "before" and there is a very big difference! Josh was terrific to work with on this project. I would have no hesitation in working with him again. Josh has imagination and good ideas, and he will make suggestions, but he knows that the project is yours and will carry things out as you specify. He has a good set of subcontractors to carry out painting, or floor work and other specialities, so you can leave the coordination of those activities to him and he will follow up to make sure things are done to your satisfaction. For our remodel, the kitchen cabinets were done by Brandon Kimble of Camden and the slate came from Sheldon Slate, but it was Josh who helped all the pieces come together properly. Josh is totally trustworthy about money. As with any remodeling project, we ran into some surprises and the overall project cost more and took longer than we expected at the beginning, but this was entirely due to our own choices to do things better. The slippery slope is any sentence that begins with "As long as we're..." but the outcome at our place has been really good: better windows, more insulation, much better plumbing, and other improvements. Josh has good sense about what is important and what is optional. He also knows when he can make a choice and when he should check in with you. He's a good listener and really works to understand what you want. There were some very tricky places in our old house, especially in the bathroom we created in the space that was the attic dormer. Josh was very thoughtful and creative in executing a good solution to a highly constrained setting. We love our house in Maine and we're very glad we hired Josh to make it better.”

“Hi Paul!! It’s Sandy Sites!!! Hi!!! I hired Paul to restore my old house in Auburn, Maine. OMG, he was AWEy!!! He showed up on time, he did professional, quality +++++ work, and he even went to court for me to testify about the previous contractor’s shoddy work that made my roof leak!!! He was easy to work with, provided emergency service the time I needed it, annd was very easy to work with in my home. He was respectful of my property, making sure he cleaned up the end of every day. He carried off all debris. He was great!! Aand I would give him and outstanding recommendation. Thanks, Paul!!”
