“Bob Vail is a master Craftsman and his crew is just as exacting and demanding as he is. Our project involved pushing out our kitchen foundation 6ft and rearranging the rooms on the first floor to meet an expanded and updated kitchen. Walls were torn down and new walls were put in place, new windows and doors and a new outside deck also were part of a project that included an entire renovation of a tired old kitchen. Bob consulted and worked with us alongside an architect, kitchen expert and electrician in order to help us select exactly what we wanted, at times he would advocate for us when we met with some unprofessional incidents. Most importantly, Bob was able to flex with some changing demands during the project while still maintaining the integrity of the original plan. Superior finish carpentry highlights surround the new project and bring continued enjoyment as we use our new kitchen and entertain more often than ever before.”

“From start to finish a great experience with a terrific result. Seth and his crew impressed us daily with their responsiveness, efficiency, and excellent work. In an old house there are always challenges, what you might expect and what you don’t, and every solution they came up with made the overall project even better. It was a lot to manage, especially during a year with shortages of building materials and subcontractors booked out for months. Yet SGK made everything come together. This is a talented and professional group, not to mention a pleasure to have around. Their respect for us, our home, and our wishes would assure them as our first choice for another job.”

“Saridel has done multiple projects for us. He has done both our bathrooms and our kitchen, which is now a showpiece that wows everyone that steps foot into our house. These projects were complete remodels down to the studs of a very dated home. His work is second to none. He is an extremely talented carpenter who is completely trustworthy and will give you exceptional quality work, with straight forward and reasonable pricing. You never have to worry about leaving your home unattended when he is there. “Steve was a great partner to work with on our recent net zero Design/Build collaboration! Steve was able to take our detailed list of design requirements and create an incredibly functional home plan that ultimately satisfied all of our needs and desires. Highlights of our project included: - The final home plan was the product of a highly collaborative and iterative design process that relied upon 3D renderings and walkthroughs to test and review the plan at each stage of design. This allowed us to validate the plan and, where necessary, make adjustments before construction actually started. We can honestly say that there is nothing material we would change about the design. - Steve’s extensive background in modular and net zero construction ensured an extremely energy-efficient home (HERS score of 11) - Our building envelope presented some interesting positional challenges that Steve was able to solve elegantly and efficiently. - Steve not only accommodated our desire to do the interior finishing work (i.e., cabinetry, tiling, flooring, painting, etc.) ourselves, but in fact actively facilitated our ability to do so by adjusting his build plan to complete our workshop well before the rest of the house was completed.
