What colour paint did you use for the ceiling? Thanks

Getting house ready to put house on market...Keep reading to use neutral colours on walls and white on trim and ceiling...
These colours would be nice in my bathroom...Trying to figure out bedrooms, kitchen and living..

It is a Sherwin Williams color SW 7036. I usually use the same color on the ceiling but I have them do a 50% lighter version of the same color. Your paint store will know what that means. They use 50% of the same pigments. It works really well.

I also have an overwhelming need to see something curvy, flirtatious and round in the space. Consider this when scouting for decor and accesory items (i.e. round rug, curvy fluid light fixtures). Also, would it be a complete abomination to sand down the furniture (so it looks older) or painting it a new color before upholstering to modernize it? I agree with j222b's suggestion in that the furniture and space could benefit from some eclectic coverings but perhaps a neutral fabric against a new color that could bring out the carving of the wood could work too? In my head I see a rusty orange or deep aubergine purple or rich dark green. Just a thought...

Hi Yuxian! Think about what style you're going for as you would want your paint colours to complement the furnishings to come. Also, what mood do you want to create for your whole house/each room? For instance, yellows are uplifting and cheery while greens are usually restful. Browse online for 'paint colour ideas' and save a collection of photos that appeal to you. You're likely to find great decor ideas at the same time! With that particular part of the house pictured above though, my advice is to make the most of the precious daylight coming through that window (there's just never enough sunlight in my flat! RIP, all our plants that once lived) and have this room painted in lighter hues. It's uplifting stepping in to a bright and airy home. Ultimately, follow your heart and if you love a colour, choose it!

I think that ceilings can create a warm feeling if painted in a warm pastel colour or even bold black.. It all ties with your choice of furniture, rugs etc.
