Wanting advice on paint colour

My house has a veranda all around outside. I have just renovated inside and had decided to paint the walls Dulux Natural White, see new kitchen and splash back . Wanting a warm white, not a stark white as I have a brick internal wall and timber skirting and window sills. What is your opinion?

Natural white is lovely can show a lil grey in shadows so could also consider white polar quarter which is beautiful. Don't go antique white need more modern colours with that great kitchen bench!

Gorgeous! Love your kitchen. Similar in colours to mine. I did Lexicon 1/4 thru the house to go with our 'cool' colours and am really happy with it. This is my first time using cool colours - I had always been a dulux antique white girl - you could try half strength ??? Try samples on big pieces of paper to be sure. Good luck!

Just wondering what is the current wall color? Looks lavender. I'm not a fan of accent walls in a bedroom. To me a bedroom should be relaxing and varying wall colors seem stimulating by their very nature (think they're great in other rooms though). But if you want to do one, I would do as you suggested, the wall where your headboard is located. Figure out what you want to keep (sounds like the headboard and the red chair are definitely staying), then work around that. I think cool greys are very pretty and a wonderful neutral that work would work well with your headboard and chair. Then you could bring in the other colors you like through bedding and artwork. If storage is an issue, can you get some bins on wheels for beneath your bed? Also can you consolidate all those smaller tables and get one larger table/storage piece in its place? I would check out IKEA if it's in your budget. Also given the size of your bedroom, if possible I would go with simple curtains that are the same color as your walls. Good luck!

You definitely want to use a primer first. Paint it one coat to be absolutely sure no yellow is showing through. A second coat if necessary. Otherwise you will find the everso slight tinge of yellow will upset the other walls

I very much agree with what Beverly said regarding adding shutters to your home. You don't have the space on either side of the windows to accommodate appropriately sized shutters. Awnings would definitely be an option. Since you're in the Caribbean, you can add color by using a brightly striped awning. One shutter option that you could consider would be a Bahama Shutter. Since they mount at the top of the windows, you wouldn't have any problem adding them if you like.

Hi, I would like to get some suggestions on the color of the wall. We love the wood panelling. Our bed is wood so would like a lighter wall color. Dulux Natural White has a slight grey undertone I think it would look great in your home. (It's definitely not warm undertones)

Recommend a cool white as well with this kitchen. My suggestion is china doll, it's very subtle and Parkes the ceiling white pop.

Are your kitchen cabinets actually white or an 'off-white'? If they are an off-white what 'base colour' do they have eg. Whisper White has a very slight yellow cast while in comparison Natural White has a very slight red cast. Lexicon quarter has a drop of black in it and will be the coolest of these three whites. You need to get your wall colour right with the kitchen cabinets or it can look 'wrong'. Also the benchtop, does the vein have a warm or a cool tone?

The bench is in warm tones. I have had a few samples done. The natural white is to white and throws a slight grey in kitchen. I have tried white polar, too dark. Now I am going to try Dulux white polar 1/4 strength. The lights are going to be down lights(bright white). Thinking I need to stick to a more warmer white as the cupboards are so white

Warm tones will go better with your benchtop. As your cabinets are white whatever you choose as a wall colour needs to complement this white too. I know someone suggested Antique White USA was dated but what is really relevant is what works best with your overall colour scheme. It's a warm white that could be worth looking at.

Have you considered using different whites? White with warmth to celebrate your benchtop and cooler white on wall near cupboards perhaps.

Years ago I wanted the guest room white, my designer friend kept telling me to use 3 different whites (one on each wall, 4th was French doors). I thought she was quite mad but as it turned out it was beautiful and softened the room and made everything work.

I have used 1/4 strength polar white from Dulux. Very happy with it. Once my lighting is finished I will insert photo of completed kitchen.

I have been successful teaming my white cabinets and tiles with Haymes Minimalist No 2. Very versatile hue.
In addition a paint specialist suggested, to provide a base reference point, attach a white sheet of paper alongside all applied samples.

Hi there! I do love your kitchen and I don't want to put a complete spanner into the works… but I'm not in love with the timber finishes. I can see the timber door frame adjacent to white sliding doors and then the timber capping piece along the top of the cupboards adjacent to the ceiling. However, do I see a stainless steel finish to the kick board below the sink area? To me, the wood is a difficult distraction from your new kitchen and I would like to see it painted over …I can't see the adjoining areas and I understand you have a brick internal wall…. but it seems to ruin the look to me and might be hindering you finding the right combinations of white and make the space seem more limited than it is by creating a border.

All the paint choosing can go out the window with one foul swoop of the wrong globe. It sounds like you sway to the warmer side of things, so make sure you use a 3000k light with high lumen level and on dimmers. 1000lm will give you the ability to have great work light, then dim it down to set the mood. 4000k and up will make it feel like a laboratory and 6000k feels like you are on a Luna landing.

I had some sample painted with both colours and looked at them at different times of the day and different areas. I thought the colour I had choosed , was right for me and a warmer feeling to blend in with the timber Inge room
