Thank you very much. We used redwood and then had a custom Sherwin Williams stain mixed to mimic Ipe.

Artificial turf! The green (they come in different colours, too, if you'd like to be psychedelic) adds a lively pop of colour to a blah space, and they're designed in easy-to-install tile-style units that have some built-in drainage for minimal maintenance. Absolut Outdoors and Green Turf can tell you more :) And I'd hang an outdoor art piece or a screen for air plants on that blank wall, too, to enliven your balcony.

Hi Gerard, Love your idea of a floating wood vanity with wash basin on top. I am assuming that you love the Bali look? I would stay away from plywood and any laminates here as water will eventually destroy the wood and decay would set in. I would rather look for a solid treated teak wood as most teak woods are much hardier and able to withstand some dampness and not rot easily. Do bear in mind that although it may be low maintenance, that does not mean that there will be no maintenance. Hope that helps? Do post a pic when you finally finish with your project.

Wood and Marble are both non-porous thus it would cause etching and corrosion. Besides that, marble are high maintenance materials as they require high maintenance. In the long run, wooden looking tiles (made of porcelain or ceramic) would be more practical. You can also consider marble looking quartz. You may check out the D & L series of iQuartz range. Hi, I am currently renovating my kitchen. Pictures of my tiles are below. I love wood grain cabinets. However, i am at odds as to whether I should get wood grained or solid coloured laminates. My designer told me that I can only choose from Arova n Jennings brand. He does offer EDL as well. But I do not like the solid colours from any of these laminate companies. A solid black colour will leave finger print marks easily. And I think grey is going to make my kitchen look monochromatic which I feel might get boring overtime. Some advice is really needed.
