How does this work? Making wall collages look good.
Comments (20)work out the wall space you want to cover, measure this on the floor. then start laying out our design within the space on the floor to create your design. There has to be lines running through the collage so there is a method to the madness- we don't want a messy looking arrangement, there must be a flow. You can line up the matts with outside edge of other frames etc. Layout all of your pics on the floor and mix up the frame styles and sizes amongst your layout. Take photos of your layout and then start hanging. My tip is don't start hanging until you have your plan 100% !!! lots of neck stretches too! i recently put together this collage and need a neck massage afterwards ;-)...See MorePlease help me with 2 questions on this bathroom!
Comments (13)I take it this isn't your bathroom. The glass could be handmade lead light which means bespoke by someone who makes lead light windows or it could be a transfer applied to a plain glass window. Check on ebay or online sticker/transfer stores for similar. I've never seen a piece like that in Australia so I'm thinking this might be an American antique. It's not normal to put an expensive antique piece in a bathroom and if you did it would be best in a bathroom that only has minimal use. And you would want to have a lot of good exhaust extraction to get rid of moisture. If you picked up one of those repro Indonesian mahogany pieces you would be spending a lot less money and might regard the piece as expendable. You can buy wood hardening sprays that resist moisture from the hardware store and spray the carcass (all the unstained pieces inside) with this stuff to resist moisture. You'd still need a good exhaust system however and keep the room well aired....See MoreNeed help to update bathroom
Comments (8)if you lighten the cabinets etc, then the stone will appear more prominent. if that is what you want, that is fine. I sensed that you did not like the current counter. I would contact a marble/granite installer to see if they think that the cracks can be filled and polished out. it is pretty common to do this on new installations if it is feasible. they may try to charge you as as much as you would spend on a fabricating a counter out of a new slab if they did not do the original installation....See Moreremodeling of the master bathroom
Comments (7)Master bedroom with the bathroom door closed. The Chinese wedding cabinet will move to another room. Now with the door opened and a wider view of the bedroom. Getting closer. The sink is protruding quite a lot in the room. I imagine one rectangular slate that is going from the door opening to the column. A view from the other side. The bath tub with the door closed. The same with the door opened, blocking the access to the tub. A view showing the glass that forms part of the corner of the room. I an thinking of hacking the glass area and the portion of the wall between the glass and the door leading to the bathroom, leaving the bottom part to prevent water from going to the bedroom. To close the space, I am thinking of folding nyato panels similar to the cabinet's doors for a unified look perhaps with some areas in stained glass for a Peranakan accent....See MoreMarianne Z.
