Love this space, fantastic job. The mustard armchairs are a brave choice and work so well with the dark neutrals. Any chance you can tell me where you got them from?

I also have an overwhelming need to see something curvy, flirtatious and round in the space. Consider this when scouting for decor and accesory items (i.e. round rug, curvy fluid light fixtures). Also, would it be a complete abomination to sand down the furniture (so it looks older) or painting it a new color before upholstering to modernize it? I agree with j222b's suggestion in that the furniture and space could benefit from some eclectic coverings but perhaps a neutral fabric against a new color that could bring out the carving of the wood could work too? In my head I see a rusty orange or deep aubergine purple or rich dark green. Just a thought...

Hello everyone, thank you for your comments. It is my first time using Houzz forum so I'm pleasantly surprised by the responses. My furniture: I have mainly neutral tone furnitures (white B&B fat fat coffee tables, B&B Solo couch with light grey textured upholstery, Eames LCW chair in birch, an opaque glass rectangular dining table with black metal legs, Starck Lizz white dining chairs, and light brown leather bed frame, Cassina Utreche dark brown leather armchairs, etc) and I spice it up with red/colorful accessories (red Vitra elephant stool, red Vitra ball clock, orange smeg fridge, etc). Hope you don't mind me going into details on the furniture. I hope to give you all an idea of how my space looks like for better advice on the curtains. I prefer curtains to blinds because I find blinds difficult to clean (I prefer to be able to wash my curtains). I agree that grey may not be a lasting colour. My current curtains are off white/beige. I have my day curtains in organza with some designs on it and night curtains in 100% cotton. However, I realize that I do get tired of the print on the day curtains so I want to try a plain one for my new home. In additon, I want more light to come through the day curtains. For the night curtains, I'm trying to avoid cotton since I realize that it shrinks easily (even dry cleaning). My curtain maker says polyester has less shrinkage and are easier to wash and does not trap dust unlike cotton. I'm toying with the idea of the linen like fabric for a slightly different feel but I've not seen this in actual curtains before and I'm worried it may not turn out well. For organza, I know it will be a safe choice. I'm torn between being on the safe side (but almost everyone else will have similar day curtains in our condo) or trying the linen. What do you all think? Will you go for safe off white/beige organza or slightly different off white/beige linen-like fabric? Sorry that my comments are so long.

Wow. Do you really want to exclude women by saying this chair is for men? Or that women "just don't understand?" I guess you don't know that women decide on most of the furniture purchases? By the way, we have a leather chair, and I am usually the one sitting in it, not my husband, so their goes that theory.

Hi Happy CNY! some rough sketch with my phone... Need to modify some walls. BR 2/3 closet best in between the rooms. Your daugter room, bed facing the window with study desk behind. The boys room will a custom double deck, youngest sleep below, 2 older ones on top. near the window will have the study desk under. At Master, 2 closet at entry, dresser, bed facing window, writing desk. Kitchen fridge, cook, sink well located, wash by window, shoe cabinet at entrance, Dining have L- banquet seat to maximize space , Living tv at wall, sofa at window, armchair, carpet rug, console table - these are just my ideas and I know it can be better, hope this starts your journey to your wonderful home
