What type of flooring is this? In real life does it come off more grey or brown?

This is pennsylavania bluestone. It is more blueish greys. You can order full color bluestone which has lots of browns, greens, and blues mixed together.

Wood and Marble are both non-porous thus it would cause etching and corrosion. Besides that, marble are high maintenance materials as they require high maintenance.
