Need help for my stairway and small upper floor terrace
Comments (1)I like large, abstract, colorful art placed at the top of stairs above narrow windows. https://www.houzz.com/photos/94th-street-townhouse-modern-staircase-new-york-phvw-vp~1326739 I like a small terrace to look good from the inside. Not too much furniture. Not too many plants to care for. A small round, wrought iron table + 2 chairs. A large urn in the center of the table with or without a hardy plant will be fine....See MoreNeed help with flooring
Comments (5)If the tile scratched in this location, any paint that you attempted to apply would scratch worse, as well as chip and peel. Ceramic tile is rarely or never painted and I have never heard it attempted on a floor. I wouldn't try it myself for fear of making the situation worse. What about washable, inexpensive cotton rag rugs? They can look very nice and you just throw them in the wash with towels or jeans depending on the color you select. Another inexpensive option would be floating a laminate floor, such as wood look planks....See MoreID recommending vinyl flooring for BTO - Any bad experience?
Comments (13)Look up Forbo Flooring. I think it comes out of Europe. Its a product with " green " credentials and whilst it is used extensively in hospitals and industrial centres it is extremely strong and hard wearing. I think with other good strong design elements in a room a vinyl floor can easily be pulled off as dynamic and urban. Used a lot in say Denmark and Sweden for example with product longevity in mind & positive if you are also environmentally conscious. I am currently looking at Forbo vinyl to be laid in our sunroom, utility room, pantry and entrance way as it is practical, easy to clean and with a great colour can provide a lot of impact. And whilst it can be hard to walk on & can be viewed sometimes as cold visually I think a rug/rugs can remedy this in the colder months. Vinyl & cork went out of fashion a couple of decades ago and they are now popular again for good reason. I hope this gives you confidence in your current ID :)...See MoreNew Toilet
