Range in front of window

Is there any concern about a high BTU range (48 inch bluestar) damaging vinyl window? I love this look,, but an appliance guy said he thought such a range would melt window casing and/or trim.

Best thing would be to call Bluestar for advice.

From the Bluestar installation manual:

"...

BACKGUARD

 All ranges require a backguard. Most models have the option of using: grate height trim; island trim; 6” inch standard; 17” inch hi-back; 24” inch high shelf. Heritage Classic models require a 24” inch high shelf for all installations.

 If you are using an island trim or grate height, a six inch clearance between the back of the range and a combustible surface is required. If an island trim is to be used without this six inch clearance, the back wall must be constructed using non-combustible and heat resistant materials that extend below the top surface of the range a minimum of six inches.

Just wondering what is the current wall color? Looks lavender. I'm not a fan of accent walls in a bedroom. To me a bedroom should be relaxing and varying wall colors seem stimulating by their very nature (think they're great in other rooms though). But if you want to do one, I would do as you suggested, the wall where your headboard is located. Figure out what you want to keep (sounds like the headboard and the red chair are definitely staying), then work around that. I think cool greys are very pretty and a wonderful neutral that work would work well with your headboard and chair. Then you could bring in the other colors you like through bedding and artwork. If storage is an issue, can you get some bins on wheels for beneath your bed? Also can you consolidate all those smaller tables and get one larger table/storage piece in its place? I would check out IKEA if it's in your budget. Also given the size of your bedroom, if possible I would go with simple curtains that are the same color as your walls. Good luck!

Try a pergola over the door and one over the windows in the middle. You can have lucite or plastic or fiberglass roofing installed on top of it to keep rain out and vining plants for shade.

Wow lots of windows. That is good and I love the bay window in the room. Floor looks beautiful as well. Is there a solid wall that the bed can go on, like on the wall to the left of the picture? Also I would staple backout to the window with the roman shade and then place a highboy, armoire or large peice of furniture in front that would cover the whole window and no one from the inside will know. You do put a roller blind inside the window pulled down so no one from the outside will know either. This will give you storage and make the room more functional. I would then place a desk in the bay for a great place to sit and write or a comfortable chair with table and lamps to read. Please post pictures of all sides of the room as that would be helpful with suggestions.

Thanks for your comments, its great to discuss with houzers! You are so right @decoenthusiaste the view is beautiful and one reason why I chose the apartment. the room is longer than it is wide, and I wanted the kitchen/bar to be included in the seating so the attached pic is how I was planning to lay it out. @cdrdesign I can't/change the table, its a gorgeous mahogany piece I had custom made and one I see keeping for some years yet! I dont plan a TV in this room, will put it in another room. This room in for living and entertaining guests. Sorry I dont have layout software, so you will have to make do with my scribbles using powerpoint! Could really do with help on choosing the light fitting in place of the central fan- what would look nice here or should I wait till the furniture gets here to choose the light to match?
