The shower for this bathroom, which is featured in another picture was a corner unit 36"x36". Thank you.

Marble are both non-porous thus it would cause etching and corrosion. Besides that, marble are high maintenance materials. Marble requires proper care and maintenance. Acid should never be used on marble as it shall loose its shine. Marble should be regularly polished over a period of time to give it a new look. If proper precautions are not taken the marble becomes yellowish in colour. Italian marble is usually very soft and prone to cracks. Proper resins have to be used to make the surface strong and solid and avoid further cracks. Proper sealants should be used in marble flooring as the marble is highly porous and prone to staining. It absorbs stains very quickly especially kitchen stains hence are not appropriate for kitchen counter tops. In the long run, wooden looking tiles (made of porcelain or ceramic) would be more practical. You can also consider marble looking quartz. You may check out the D & L series of iQuartz range. I have a recess built into the walls which is great, but not helpful in this situation. We will always default to the easiest method when it comes to daily tasks and the caddie is probably the best solution it you are renting and not allowed to drill the tiles, but it is not as easy to put things in a caddie as it is a shelf. If you can drill the tiles, a shelf will be easier. Be as minimalist as possible with stuff on it as well. There are plenty of other options in cushion storage from storage shops too. Good luck.

You might want to try this layout if the space allows. You can use the longest wall as storage and TV wall panel and switch dining to the shorter wall near to balcony. Hope it helps!
